Fashionista is a new fashion blog published by Elizabeth Spiers, who I think was the originial editor at
Gawker. I have high hopes of it being a new daily distraction, but it hasn't quite hooked me yet. However, there are a few items that are encouraging me to come back for more.

One is
this tutorial for making your own faux Chanel Balck Satin nail polish, a limited edition color that I wasn't too interested in before. But now that I know how to fake it with Wet & Wild, I'll give it a whirl. Maybe on my toes.

The second item is a promised recurring feature called
Streetwalker, which is a bit like the
Satorialist meets
Hel-Looks, but with more commentary.
The third reason I feel the need to keep checking this blog is kind of a personal one. One of their very
first posts is about a new
m&m website that allows you to design your own character. The personal tip: An old, old friend of mine is part of the ad team who's been making this website for over a year. I'm seeing his commercials all the time, but I never expected his marketing onslaught to get me in my frivolous fashion reading. Guess I was wrong.
Anyway, here's Fashionista's m&m version of Anna Wintour:

And here's my version of me, stylin' and profilin':
